Minnesota landscape with sunset and a heart.

Welcome

We are a fundraising campaign committed to getting a BWCA guardian into Minnesota's 8th Congressional District. Help us stand up for the places we love!

Why Minnesota D8?

Minnesota's 8th Congressional District is home to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, commonly known as the BWCA.  In early 2026, Minnesota District 8 representative Pete Stauber sponsored a resolution overturning BWCA protections. In June 2026, the Congress and President Trump approved the resolution, opening this pristine natural wilderness to a planned sulfide mine operated by the Chilean multi-national mining company Antofagasta.

The candidates running against Pete Stauber in the November 2026 mid-terms have both denounced this decision and pledge to fight to protect the BWCA from the risks of sulfide mining.

Whether you've paddled the BWCA, have it on your bucket list, or simply know that protecting it matters, we invite you to join us in standing up for it.

About Unseat Pete

Our Mission

Our Approach

Our Mission

Our mission is to help elect a BWCA guardian to Minnesota's 8th Congressional District.  We believe Pete Stauber should be held accountable for selling out one of the most pristine natural wildernesses in our country.

Our Story

Our Approach

Our Mission

We are Twin Citians who believe our natural treasures need protection. We know that more than ever, Minnesotans are standing up for the places and people we love. We can't vote in D8 but are ready to fight for the BWCA.

Our Approach

Our Approach

Our Approach

Contributions go directly to the candidate opposing Pete Stauber. With big mining backing Stauber, his opponent needs support from people like us. An August 11 primary will determine Stauber's opponent. Both candidates oppose sulfide mining near the BWCA.
